El Paso has the best Mexican food in the Southwest, and you’re missing out if you don’t try it at least once. You should also spend a fun night out and try the tapas scene (Spanish small plates with wine or cocktails) for the perfect pairing.
To get the best of both worlds, food touring and sightseeing, book a hotel within the city center for easy access to great El Paso restaurants and famous sites.
The Wyler Aerial Tramway

You cannot end your El Paso trip without a ride on the tramway in the Franklin Mountains! The Swiss-made gondolas will transport you to the top of Ranger Peak. From there, you will have an amazing view of Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico from 5,632 feet above sea level!
You can book a ranger-guided tram tour for $8 per person and $4 for youngsters under age 12.
Tip: Be sure to check the website or call ahead of time. Sometimes the tram will shut down due to high winds.
Vineyards and Wineries

There are many vineyards and wineries to choose from in El Paso and nearby locations in New Mexico.
New Mexico’s oldest winery, La Viña Winery, is just a 30-minute drive outside the city. It has a variety of wines, including Chardonnay, Cabernet, and Zinfandel.
If you just want to grab a nice glass (or two) of wine within the city, there are plenty of bars to choose from for your Southwestern wine fix!

Franklin Mountains State Park

If adventure is what you seek, then you will definitely find it at Franklin Mountains State Park.
Besides taking the tramway for a perfect view, the ruggedness of the Franklin Mountains is great for hiking, biking, and pure exploring. You can also visit for a day or bring your camping gear and stay overnight before heading back to the city.
The entrance fee is $5 daily for adults; admission is free for children 12 years and younger.
