I love Beauty and the Beast, particularly because a lot of the story involves a rose (my favorite flower!)
Just like when we dined at Epcot’s Space 220 Restaurant, you must have a reservation at Magic Kingdom’s Be Our Guest Restaurant. And also like Space 220 Restaurant, dining at Be Our Guest comes with a hefty price tag for a family of three.
What is Be Our Guest Restaurant?
Be Our Guest Restaurant is a truly enchanting dining experience that brings the magic of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” to life. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you’re transported to the world of this classic movie.
The restaurant’s design is a replica of Beast’s Castle. From the intricate details of the chandeliers to the stunning artwork on the walls, every aspect of the decor feels like it was plucked straight from the movie. Also, if you listen closely, you can hear the knights speak to each other!
True story, after our meal we left our table and stuck around the restaurant for about 30 minutes exploring all the rooms and taking tons of pictures before we left.
There are three themed dining rooms: The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing (I call it the Rose Room because it’s where you can see the enchanted rose) and The Castle Gallery (Belle’s private library adorned with beautiful portraits and dancing Beauty and the Beast statues.)
Each room has its own unique atmosphere. The Grand Ballroom is the largest and most impressive (also the loudest but not too bad.) It is a replica of the ballroom that set the scene of Belle and Beast’s dance.
We were seated in the Grand Ballroom right next to the window that displayed gorgeous falling snow outside of the windows (like in the movie!) You can request a room to dine in when checking in for your reservation but it’s not guaranteed.
I was really hoping we’d get a seat next to the window and I am so glad we did. I couldn’t stop looking at the gently falling snow outside the window and its snow covered French countryside.
The West Wing is dark and moody, with the enchanted rose on display as a centerpiece. There is a strike of lightning in the room each time a petal falls and the sound of thunder.
If you want to dine in a well lit room, then I don’t recommend this one. But if you’re in the mood for a cozy, candlelit ambiance, then this room is definitely what you are looking for!
The Castle Gallery features beautiful artwork inspired by the film, making it a great choice for art lovers. This is also where you can see the twirling figures of Belle and Beast dancing.
Make A Reservation
To dine at an in-park table-service restaurant at ANY Disney World park, you need a confirmed dining reservation for the total number of Guests—regardless of age, plus a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on that same date for each Guest ages 3 and up. You can book your dining reservation as early as 60 days prior to your arrival on the My Disney Mobile App or Disney World website.
Meet The Beast
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet Beast at the time we visited, and I’m not sure if it is offered now. He did walk around a couple of times to wave at everyone and it was pretty quick.
Pre-pandemic, there was a Character Meet and Greet with Beast. Guests had the opportunity to visit Beast in his study, where they can take photos and interact with him. If you are planning on dining here, check to see if it is available so you’d know what to expect.
However, we did receive a beautiful card signed by The Beast!
The Meal
This French-inspired menu is a three course meal (appetizer, entree and dessert trio featuring the famous “Gray Stuff” like when Belle dined in the movie.) Their savory French onion soup as an appetizer is definitely a crowd pleaser and if you don’t eat the decadent “Gray Stuff” dessert, then did you really dine at Beast’s castle?
Meshach and I ordered the French onion soup for an appetizer, and center-cut filet mignon as our entree. Tristan ordered the fruit and cheese plate from the kids menu and grilled beef tenderloin as his entree.
The dessert trio platter from the kids menu is so cute! You can literally paint the little teacup with edible food paint, “Chip” (remember him from the movie?) I kind of wish that were an option for the adult plates.
Overall, the food was good, but I think you’re mostly paying for the experience. It’s a beautiful restaurant and you really feel like you are a guest at Beast’s castle.
Would we eat there again? Probably not, but it’s definitely something to experience at least once at Magic Kingdom.
