When #WanderlustWednesday comes around each week on social media, do you ever wish you could visit your wanderlust city someday? I just may be able to help you with that! Sticking to a budget and saving money can be difficult, especially for those who want to save for a trip. With just a few adjustments to your lifestyle, it can make your dream vacation a reality.
Prioritize
For most people, traveling or going on a big vacation isn’t a necessity. We can all agree that paying our rent or mortgage is most important. Hands down! But in addition to that, if you really want to travel often then you have to make it a priority in your finances. Start thinking twice about that Louis Vuitton handbag or racking up a bar tab when you’re out with friends (unless you can afford to then good for you!). Decide which is the most important: a material object or making memories somewhere amazing?
Track Your Expenses
Write them down or download a money tracking app like Mint. It’s good to know where your money is going. If you pay a closer attention to what you are spending on a daily basis it will give you an idea of how much you are really spending. My husband manages the finances for our household and I am so glad he is because I admittedly am horrible at saving money let alone managing it with such perfection as he does!
Make Changes
A cup of coffee or specialty drink at a café can cost almost $4. If you’re making a coffee run on the way to work 5 days a week that’s $20 on a weekly basis and $1,040 in a year! You could buy a round trip ticket to Europe for that price (maybe even two tickets depending on where you live). If you hardly watch cable but still paying for it – maybe it’s time to cut it off. Now let me tell you, I was very hesitant about going cable-less, but once it was gone, I realized that I never really watched any of those cable channels and if I wanted, I could watch them on the channel’s app online for free if available. Besides, people seem to be doing a lot of binge watching on Netflix these days and Netflix is very popular at our house!
Travel is a possibility and can be done if you focus and be smart with your money. Saving money for travel is like a diet – it’s a lifestyle change and the benefits will be rewarding.

You have an amazing website and I love wine too 🙂 I have not written a post yet on landing press trips but I may have one in the works over the next couple of months. It will be in my “Blogging 101” section of the website. Happy travels! By the way, I followed your Twitter and Instagram!
