I got my hands on the latest issue of Lonely Planet Magazine’s Spring 2017 edition. Let’s take a look!
In this issue, Lonely Planet gears you up for spring travel by taking you through Europe via railway, a Great Escape to Colombia (on my bucket list!) and great spring break ideas in Florida. There is also an essay written by former President Barack Obama. He talks about the importance of responsible travel.
One of my favorites are the tips for ‘7 New Ways to See Venice.’ Have you ever considered swapping a gondola for a kayak? I wish we had that option on our visit to Venice.
I also loved the suggestions for dog friendly hotels. While we never travel with Samson (our dog), it’s good to know there are many places available who will accept your furry family member!
If you’re looking for a quick escape, ‘Easy Trips’ has great suggestions including Asheville in our home state of North Carolina. Seriously, Asheville is becoming a big hit for out of state travelers. Locals including my family, also love road tripping there for weekend getaways. Don’t forget to stop at Biltmore Estate to see America’s largest privately owned estate.
This issue once again has a tear out ‘Mini Guide’, beautiful photos, personal experiences and more!
In November 2015, Lonely Planet launched their quarterly magazine in the U.S. You can pick up a copy for $5.99 at many retailers including Barnes & Noble, Hudson Booksellers and Whole Foods Market. A digital version is available for Kindle, iPad and Nook for the same price or you can get a 1 year subscription for $8 – don’t miss out!

This issue was kindly given to me by Lonely Planet for review. As always my opinions are my own.
