I had never been to the Caribbean so I was very excited when we had the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic! Not only was this going to be a trip filled with new experiences, but I also got to bring along Vera Bradley’s latest Hardside Spinner Luggage in Camogray. Packing light for this trip, we brought along their small hardside spinner luggage as a carry-on (large is also available for checked bags) and I used their Triple Compartment Travel Bag in Nomadic Floral for my personal item, which you can read about in an earlier post.
It was very easy getting around the airport in Atlanta to our transfer flight for Punta Cana. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is often known as one of the busiest airports in the world. This case has four swivel wheels and a carrying handle if you want to carry your suitcase instead of rolling it. Its dimensions are 14″ w x 22″ h x 9″ d making it carry-on compliant if you want so save money and don’t check your bag.
After what seemed like forever of a wait on our layover in Atlanta, we finally boarded the plane for our adventure! I am a huge fan of window seats. I love watching us speed through the clouds and it’s a treat to the eyes when I see land below!
I was so thankful that we were flying on a perfect clear sky day. I took so many aerial photos from the plane. We flew on a Delta flight and our plane had a flight tracker screen so we were able to spot the name of the islands below. To get a good view of the islands without the sun glare, I suggest taking a mid-morning flight to the Caribbean. I wasn’t able to get a good view on our flight home because we left in the late afternoon and the sun was fierce!
I knew we were approaching paradise when I saw the ocean turn from dark blue to turquoise below! Breath taking islands appeared to float below us, giving a tranquil feeling on our journey. We flew over the Bahamas which I believe is one of their islands in the photo above. We also flew over Turks and Caicos, it was such a beautiful experience!
Suddenly the many shades of blue turned into lush greenery – we made it to the Dominican Republic!
I was so glad this suitcase had zip-close mesh overlay with a zip-closure pocket and straps! It was easy to find what I needed and didn’t have to worry about my belongings tossed all over the suitcase during transport.
We had peace of mind with the integrated TSA-compliant lock on this suitcase. It was very convenient having a built-in lock without having to buy an external lock for the case.
This suitcase was rolled all over the place, tossed into overhead bins, taken in and out of vehicles for airport transfers and honestly it held up very well. We bought souvenirs during the trip so our carry-on money saving plan turned into checked bags at $25 for the trip home to the States. It would be nice if airlines offered free checked bags for domestic and Caribbean flights. Camogray is the Vera Bradley signature print for this luggage and from my experience at the luggage carousel – it was definitely easy to spot!
Thank you so much to the team at Vera Bradley for sponsoring this suitcase for our trip! Although this post was sponsored, my opinions are always my own and yes, I really am a Vera Bradley fan!
