The following products for my travel bag were sponsored by Diane Gilman and Honest Beauty.
For years, Ireland was one of the top places on my list of places to visit. I had always imagined visiting during the summer where the weather would be warm and sunny for the most part.
However, when we finally went, that was not the case. We visited in late April where the temperature averaged mid-50 degrees Fahrenheit, occasional rain and insane cold wind on one of the days on our trip. In fact, it hailed on the day we flew back home.
Overall, the weather was pretty tolerable and we did see a lot of blue sky for the most part.
I was glad that we were prepared for the elements being thrown at us, it made us enjoy our trip despite the weather.
Which brings me to, what’s in my travel bag for Ireland!
Denim Jeans
You may remember my Diane Gilman post on a earlier blog post, well I got to bring along her DG2 Virtual Stretch Up-Lifter Skinny Jean and once again, another great pair of jeans by Diane Gilman!
She really knows how to design comfortable jeans. They’re soft, they can stretch for a perfect fit and comfortable enough to wear all day long.
These weren’t the only pair I brought on the trip. Since I wore knee-high boots the entire trip, I was also able to wear her cropped jeggings, which I’ve had for over a year and still in great condition. I wear them with flip-flops during the warmer months.
Detox Mud Mask
Next up in my travel bag, I brought my go-to products from Honest Beauty, another long time favorite brand of mine.
Before we left for Ireland, they sent me a face-saving mud mask, 3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask made of Jeju volcanic ash and activated charcoal. Honestly, the last time I used a mud mask was in my junior high days, so it’s been awhile!
However, I’m glad I tried it! It left my skin super soft and clean. It was also great to use post-trip because my skin likes to break out and get oily on our travels. I don’t know why.
I like to use the mask at least once a week and although the directions say to leave it on for 15 minutes, sometimes I forget and it stays on an extra 5 or 10 minutes – oops!
Travel Ready Make Up
I like to keep things simple not only for packing my beauty products in my travel bag, but I also like to wear very little make up as possible on our trips.
Simply because the less I have to do to my face, the quicker we can get out of our hotel and do some sightseeing. Plus, I can’t enjoy a long day of exploring while wearing layers upon layers of make up. I dress up like that for special occasions.
I packed my handy Everything Cream Foundation in Java (it feels super light on the skin!), Concealer Duo in Smooth Sable for those early mornings out the door, Everything Primer to help my make up stay all day, Refreshingly Clean Powder Cleanser (really good for airplane travel) and Refreshingly Clean Make Up Remover Wipes because you really shouldn’t sleep in your make up!
Also brought my Truly Kissable Lipstick Crayon in Raspberry Kiss.
Layers
If you’re going to visit Ireland, dress in layers! I was told this by many people prior to our trip and they were right.
It was a chilly at the beginning and end of each day. It helps to wear a long sleeve shirt (or short sleeve depending on how overheated you easily get), and a jacket so that you could remove it around mid-day if the sun is out.
When we went to the Cliffs of Moher, our guide warned us it would be chilly and windy up there. So we brought our jackets but carried it for the most part because the sun was out with a lovely blue sky and all that walking really heated us up!
And then of course, my travel bag also included the usual essentials like electronics, hygiene products, etc.
I don’t know how he does it, but Meshach was able to pack almost 2 weeks worth of my clothes in just my carry-on! I think that needs to be a blog post or video all on its own, don’t you think?
